A leading ship repair company is currently looking to recruit an experienced purchasing officer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with suppliers or vendors and maintaining a professional relationship with them;
- Managing the inventory and ensuring that product demand is satisfied;
- Ensuring that products received are of a good quality and standard;
- Managing and adopting purchasing strategies and targets for maximum efficiency;
- Comparing suppliers and choosing the best products and arrangements;
- Requesting quotes and exploring different suppliers as to ensure that the purchases are cost-effective and of a good standard;
- Representing the company in negotiations with suppliers with the aim of managing to strike a favourable contract;
- Managing any delivery arrangements necessary according to the company’s needs;
- Maintaining databases and records related to shipping, delivery, stock-count, invoices and purchases.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a role related to purchasing management;
- The chosen applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian.
- Preference will be given to applicants in possession of an A’ level standard of education.
