A leading ship repair company is currently looking to recruit an experienced purchasing officer to join their team.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with suppliers or vendors and maintaining a professional relationship with them;
  • Managing the inventory and ensuring that product demand is satisfied;
  • Ensuring that products received are of a good quality and standard;
  • Managing and adopting purchasing strategies and targets for maximum efficiency;
  • Comparing suppliers and choosing the best products and arrangements;
  • Requesting quotes and exploring different suppliers as to ensure that the purchases are cost-effective and of a good standard;
  • Representing the company in negotiations with suppliers with the aim of managing to strike a favourable contract;
  • Managing any delivery arrangements necessary according to the company’s needs;
  • Maintaining databases and records related to shipping, delivery, stock-count, invoices and purchases.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a role related to purchasing management;
  • The chosen applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian.
  • Preference will be given to applicants in possession of an A’ level standard of education.
