A leading fund services company is expanding its operations. The firm is looking for an individual eager to work in the industry permanently within the company.  The chosen applicant will be filling the role of Officer and will perform duties related to fund accounting matters.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the implementation of fund administration systems;
  • Revaluing fund portfolios and perform follow-up on exceptions noted;
  • Validating the completeness and accuracy of trade capture;
  • Performing procedures to ensure the completeness of income;
  • Accounting for corporate actions and for subscriptions and redemptions;
  • Generating NAV calculations within agreed deadlines and completing checklists to ensure the accuracy of this process;
  • Liaising with investment managers, custodians and sub-administrators in relation to matters regarding the production of the NAV;
  • Keeping abreast of accounting developments and their impact on the funds industry;
  • Ensuring consistent application of the firm’s policies and procedures at all times;
  • Preparing reconciliations to third parties, including custodians and investment managers, and follow up on reconciling items;
  • Performing bank reconciliations and follow up on reconciling item;
  • Performing any other related duties, as requested by superiors.

Requirements:

  • The  chosen applicant must have part qualification in ACCA or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar work environment will be  considered an asset.
  • Must possess a clear understanding of  the roles and responsibilities of parties involved, of fund documentation and of fund accounting method, principles and reporting.
